With sports news so slow right now it seems the football chatter has picked up right were it left off. Every fan across the country is getting there fantasy football picks for a draft over going over countless articles to get you just another day closer to the opening kick.
While going over some Michigan videos I managed to check out a few of the great Bo Schembechler. What a motivater he was. Even if you're not a UM fan he just had a way about him that anybody could appreciate as the head coach of a big time program. He really cared for his players and it showed back throughout his life and after his passing. They don't make em like they used to.

Spring Game
Here is a clip of a TD run by Carlos Brown during today's spring game for the Wovlerines
Sounded like it was a great time and about 40,000 fans or so were there with a huge supply of great recruits as well. Hopefully the weekend will lead to a few commitments and turn the event into something everyone really looks forward to.
Also from what I've gathered Tate Forcier was tearing it up and still impressing. Throwing some great balls and a few TDs the offense looked very different from last years. Even though it is a scrimmage, it shows that he is able to do what was advertised and gives me faith that RR is doing things right.

Lions Fire Millen When He's 3-0???

Thought I would take a quick screen shot of foxsport.com after they broke the Millen firing. Pretty funny that out of all the things they would get wrong it would be Millen not having a single loss on his record.
As I'm sure all the Lions fans are thrilled but it will still take at least two years if the Ford's can finally get the right guy in here. Until there is more on the search for GM or anything of substance from the Lions on the field I won't bring everyone down off their high from the firing of Mr. Millen with more Leo talk.
On to Michigan. A lot of talk this week about UM still taking it to the Badgers despite the ranking of the Badgers and recent loss to the Domers by Michigan. I'm a huge M fan but I just don't see it happening, sorry. Every time I want to convince myself that UM can do it I think about our QBs who can only throw 5 yard passes, and it still is shaky. You just can't win in the kind of offense RR runs until you get dual threat QBs in there to keep the defense honest. You never know though, I'm pretty sure their was a big upset last night so college football continues to be college football!!
I really hope they pull it off and if RR is really all he is supposed to be (I think he is) then he will again have the offense playing better then the previous weeks. Just keep your hands on the ball freshmen.
Time for a little MSU talk. Javon Ringer is a BEAST. Man I love watching him run for the Sparties. The problem that many think this may cause is that he is getting 40 carries or so and that may be too much for the brick house to continue with his dominance. If he is to be productive throughout the entire season Hoyer better start getting the rock moving through the air. I also didn't know how good or bad MSU would be with Coach D after his first year, they are good.
MSU has been able to get a ton of instate recruits and are putting together a very good class. I will still wait for the entire season to play out and for them to put to bed the echoes of falling late in the season until I crown Coach D as the man who will bring MSU back to the top 4 of the Big Ten in regards to football. Also please win a bowl game for once.
Nice catch
Good bye Mr. Millen! Please watch the entire video it is one of the best especially if you’re a Leos fan.
I don’t like David Blaine but love Kimbo Slice so I have to post him hitting Blaine right? Too bad he only punches him in the stomach and not the head.
Chris Cooley continues to be one of the best providers when it comes to internet fodder.

Like Christmas Again!
It is so nice to sit at my computer once again and keep hitting refresh over and over to see whether or not my fantasy team can win the game for me. Also I love the smack talk and having something to look forward to other then the Lions every Sunday.
As I'm sure many of you out there are aware of how bad the Lions looked against a very suspect team in Atlanta. I really just don't understand why they can never turn the corner - Millen!!! We continue to suck in the draft and don't even have our first two picks out there starting!?!? Just take a look a the good teams in the NFL who make the playoffs. Even with their great teams they are still able to find picks and have them starting on a team that is better then the Lions.....
It shouldn't get to me anymore being a Lions fan all my life but I'm not a sports fan from Atlanta or Carolina who could give a shit less about their NFL team. I'm a Lion fan and I want them to win a Lombardi Trophy someday. I know this is probably not realistic at this time with Millen wasting draft after draft and Marinelli blowing smoke up everyone's ass at his pressers.
As for the Wolverines, they still looked like a team in transition with a new football coach and complex system. I'm still hearing the fans on the radio talk about the recruiting class and how he is trying to make square pegs fit in round holes, yes that is true in some ways. I understand that every once and awhile they can line up and run right at the defense but in the end will doing this for one year help the program down the road? No it won't.
This team is very young and all the experience they get now learning and running the offense will only help us when we continue to get the players in here that are needed for the system to be the most effective. Understand Michigan fans this team is very very young and they would be the same for Llyod if he was here. For as bad as it looks though Notre Dame still looks worse and I think UM can pull it off once again against the fat guy.
Go Blue!!
One more little note before the vids. I was sad to see Tom Brady go down and this issue has been covered more then enough. I just wish him luck in his comeback and know he will be fine after having the same injury to both of my knees.
Mike and Mike on Monday Night also suck. They should just let Ditka be in there by himself. I bet he wouldn't even talk sometimes and just let people watch the game without an annoying voice every second of the game.
What would it look like if NFL players had a fantasy football draft? The Washington Redskins will show you. (Longer video but well worth the watch for any fantasy football player)
Here is a highlight from the Georgia/CMU game. Great play by Knowshon Moreno who may be up for the Heisman this year.

Did UCLA Just Win The National Title?
I was up on Monday to watch the great game that was UCLA vs. Tennessee. Yes I understand that UCLA was the underdog and that their QB was a third stringer, but come on. I think the game was more of a testament to how bad Tennessee actually is. When the opposing teams QB keeps throwing pick after pick and you can't get any points out of it, that is just a bad team.
Yes I was impressed with the UCLA defense more than anything, but the press conference, fireworks, and Neuheisel going on and on about how they are taking over Cally = A big ass whipping when the best program of the past decade (USC just in case you don't have a clue) meets up with them later in the year. It will be fun to watch the UCLA fans cry after that one and I'm sure Neuheisel will stomp his feet in a few years and leave UCLA in a mess of penalties like he has with both his former employers.
As for Michigan :( I was very disappointed in the defense more than anything. I couldn't understand why we weren't putting pressure on Johnson the QB for Utah. We just thought the line was so good they would plow through their O-Line and get to their QB, this never happened until we made the changes in the second half and managed to stop them with consistency. I just don't understand why the coaches waited, I'm looking at you Shafer.
The QBs were also bad and I knew they would be. I just thought they could at least throw a ten yard pass with decent accuracy, I was wrong again. Threet just keep throwing the ball higher and higher and Sheridan keep throwing the ball too far away from the WRs to even have a chance of making a play.
Many Michigan fans want to cry and say RR is horrible and how could they make such a big mistake, these are probably the same fans who sit through an entire Michigan game on their hands expecting a Michigan win and wondering why they never have great home field advantage. RR has said it will take patience since day one and he is right, even though I'm sure he also expected a better showing.
Michigan will be great once again but it won't be this year or maybe even the next. RR will get his guys in here and he will show everyone they made the right choice. Most of this mess can be blamed on Llyod Carr who I think was a great coach but left the university in a bad spot with the timing of his resignation. Our Line is awful and we are starting guys who just a week ago had never played on the O-Line ever before.
PLEASE Michigan fans just be patient and don't rush to judge RR in his first season, we don't have the players too do what he is asking. We will be just fine but I've learned a lot about the Michigan fans just through one game. I think most of them don't have a clue about the roster and how bad it is, they just expect it to be Michigan and have the best talent, we don't as of now. I'm starting to see some of the truth in many of the stones thrown by other fan bases as to why they hate Michigan fans.
I'm sad about this and just hope everyone can see that RR will turn this program into what it once was. I think I also remember Llyod Carr losing his first game? Isn't he the same coach who lead a great team last year over the mighty Appy State? Yeah we should get Carr back here as fast as we can because he never had any losses and none more embarrassing than losing to a good team in UTAH? Also the great Pete Carroll lost to Utah his first season as well and what has he done with USC except contend and win National Championships year after year.
OK I'm done ranting. On Saturday Michigan did get some good news, Tate Forcier commited to the Wolverines. I think between him and Shav'd Beaver we will have two great QBs that can get what RR wants done. Checkout his website at www.qbforce.com You can also check out videos of him at the site and here on the side, just click his name to take you there.
Now for some videos to pass the time before day one of the NFL, YEAH!!!!!
Check out minor leaguer Fernando Perez as he gives an acting class while playing baseball
It seems like there is at least one video a week of bad shooting technique
I could start a whole website on these kinds of guys. Nice work man your the cooliest

5 More Days
This isn’t Michael Phelps, but don’t tell these people. Actually you can and they still won’t believe you.
The Great White hype continues with a Sam McGuffie interview here. (Wouldn't let me copy the video so just click on this line to see it)
Pretty sure this rowing team didn't win an olympic medal this year
And here is a review of some stupid videos that were on the internet over the past month (UPDATE: Copied the wrong video, sorry. Don't know what that video was about)

So Long Newsome......
The big news of day is that Kevin Newsome will not be coming to Michigan after all. Rumors have been floating around for months that he was not sold on UM and he finally revealed that he will open his recruiting again. This makes way for another QB, Tate Forcier. Many consider him a lock to come to Michigan. His brother went to UM and then onto Stanford with no hard feelings.
Forcier is a dual quarterback rated high by all recruiting sites. You can also checkout his site at qbforce.com. It has all of his times and what schools are interested in obtaining his services.
It is a tough loss for the Wolverines. I was really looking forward to having him and Beaver compete for the starting spot. In the end Michigan will be able to recruit another highly touted QB within the next few years. There are many options out there and will always be a few who fall in love with the maize and blue. Hopefully it is Forcier who does commit after visiting the campus for the Utah game
Yeah the election is coming. It is pretty bad when your own supporters don’t even know why the hell their voting for you.
One of the better t.v. ads from last year
Now that 4-star recruit Kevin Newsome has backed off of his commit to UM, comes Tate Forcier who everyone thinks will replace him. He is a top ranked dual threat QB just like Newsome.
Go out and get Tiger Woods 2009, you can walk on water or something

Suck on that Frechy!!!
If you haven't already seen or heard the news yet the Olympics have started and the U.S.A. is taking it to the world. I was up late last night to check out the U.S. relay team in swimming. It was one of the better events I've ever seen in the Olympics.
The French team was the heavy favorite for the event and talking all this smack in the papers about how they came here just to beat the U.S., didn't go as planned. In the final league of the relay Jason Lezak (U.S.A.) was about a full body length behind the French. The announcers were had pretty much concluded the U.S. would lose and had began to talk about how Phelps would not be able to go for the record 8 gold medals.
Just as they are coming down the finally lap (don't know what they call it in swimming, sorry. Update: it is called leg) Lezak starts to glide through the water as if swimming for his life like I used to do in my pool after I saw the Jaws movie. Just as both swimmers are within feet of the finish Lezak stretches out and edges out the French by hundredths of seconds.
One of the best moments of the Olympics and I'm sure will be the talk of the day around the country.
GO U.S.A!!!!
I have also stopped watching the sideshow that is the Detroit Tigers. Since then they've managed to sweep the Oakland A's. I will continue to not watch as this move seems to both benefit myself and the team, your welcome Leyland.
Had a fantasy football draft yesterday and Reggie Bush better have a great year because I have bought into the legend that he was in college $$$$. FF drafts are very fun for anyone and I encourage anybody who is big NFL fan to get in a league.
The only thing about FF that I hate is when people cheer against their favorite team so that their FF players can get points and win. I know there is a lot of money in FF and that being a fan, especially of the Lions, isn't very rewarding but I just don't see how you can call yourself a fan of any team when in reality your just a sellout.
Peace Out
I bet their are a lot of people out there who can imagine one of their friends being this stupid

Is It Football Season Yet?
I know this time of year is great for any fan of Detroit sports teams and I shouldn't bitch, but alas. I'm really getting tired of all these pre season polls for the upcoming college football season. I really could careless about what any writer thinks a team will be ranked and do, because to me college football is the most unpredictable sport of all.
Last year had to be one of the craziest of all and this year will probably no different. The talent across the NCAA is great and I really like seeing teams like Navy go up against teams they should never beat and win while making its way to a bowl game. There is also the great Appy State and their victory over the Wolverines that had me lost in my mind trying to figure out if I was dreaming for weeks.
I'm sick of going to any sports site or popular magazine/newspaper site and seeing Mr. No Name with his great picks like he has a crystal ball in his pocket. I doubt that this guy has had time to evaluate all of the recruits that will be coming into ever program. I know I base most of my insight on recruits by going to Rivals or Takkle to see what they say and I'm sure that is what these guys do when basing who they think will be good or not, that is shitty.
So basically these guys are making a list based on recruit rankings from another list and what the teams have done last year and I have to read this crap in the spring during playoff basketball and hockey while the baseball is just getting started? All I'm asking is to save your worthless list that will mean nothing 6 games into the season, until mid to late summer. Everyone knows who the best teams for the most part are in college football, USC, LSU, OSU, Georiga, and (insert team you like) and we all know the BCS system will work it all out in a fair and reasonable fashion. There will be enough talk about football when the season is upon us, so lets wait until then for the list.
Now a few quick vids
