MEGATRON
We are hopefully about to begin a new era of the Detroit Lions. We have all been just disappointed during the Matt Millen era, but Millen did one thing right during his tenure here. He drafted Calvin Johnson. We hope Calvin is here for many years, but that all depends on how things progress over the next few years. I put a few videos of Megatron up here for all of you. Enjoy!
Here's the best play of the 2008 season for Detroit.
This is Calvin as a freshman at GT
I hate Notre Dame.....Thanks Calvin

Louis Delmas??
I thought this year was going to be different. I thought this draft was going to be the one to turn it around for Detroit. I was wrong! The worst defensive team in the NFL did not help themselves at all on that side of the ball. For some stupid reason the Lions passed on Rey Malaluga twice and took Brandon Pettigrew at 20 and some safety from Western Michigan named Louis Delmas at 33. I was shocked when they drafted both guys over Rey. The Lions did nothing today to improve their team. It is going to be another long season next year. I would swear Matt Millen is still making picks for this team. This has been one of the saddest days I can remember as a Detroit Lions fan. It almost seems like the Lions organization is just laughing at us fans. I don't think I can take this crap anymore from them. Overall I am giving them a D+ for a draft grade. The only reason its not an F is because Stafford isn't a bust yet.

Stafford's a Lion!!
The Detroit Lions have made their decision on the number 1 pick. Quarterback from Georgia Matt Stafford is now a Detroit Lion. He signed a 6 year 78 million dollars deal with 42 million guaranteed. I want to complain about the choice but the pick is already made and I now have to hope Stafford is in that 40th percentile of Quarterbacks that are drafted early and succeed. Coming from the same high school as Bobby Lane gives me a little hope. I have seen some bright spots in Stafford's game, but he still has a lot of work to do if he is going to become a Pro Bowl caliber quarterback. The Lions still have 2 more picks in the next 32, so I will be rooting for defense from here on out. Well Detroit.....Lets welcome Matt Stafford.

Tough Times
Very tough times right now for Detroit fans unless your a Sparty fan.
UM is still going through the growing pains of a new coaching regime. They are still pulling in great recruits who are getting offers from major programs. I just really hope they can stop putting the ball on the ground as the year goes.
The Wings lost last night while raising the banner. They looked a little sloppy out there but I think it has to do with many of the players not getting time with each other on the ice in preseason due to injuries. They will be fine and everyone knows there is two seasons in hockey and by the time the playoffs come the team should be looking pretty good.
Then you have the Lions. I hope to see Stanton this weekend but because he has missed so much time with his broken hand/finger I don't think he needs to just get thrown out there. They really have a good shot at going 0-16 this year. I just really hope they get a new GM within the next few months and start to blow up the team. I also hope they don't spend their first round pick on a QB, RB, or WR next year. I really hope Lions fans understand that to build a team it starts with the trenches. I'm sure I will still see the stupid post everywhere of how they should take Tebow or Daniels with their pick. It never fails to amaze me how stupid some Lions fans are when it comes to building a team and what it takes.
Should be a great game for MSU this weekend to prove to everyone that Coach D is tunring the corner with them If they take out Northwestern it will really show everyone they are not the Sparties of old. Also I predict Ringer to have 220 yards and 3 TDs.
Make sure to watch some of the baseball playoffs as well. There are very good teams out there and it is always fun to cheer on Manny because people hate him so much. I would really like to see him face off against the Red Sox and beat them, but it seems the Phillies and Pat Burrell are going to make that very tough.
Have a good weekend and good luck to your fantasy team unless your playing me.
Fitzgerald Toussaint is another great RB coming to Michigan next year. I actually think he will be better than Shaw or McGuffie, yes I said it.
(Language NSF) These guys talk smack and fight a little then at the end the guy keeps talking and gets blown out! Make sure you watch until the end, that’s when the guy brings the pain big time (Just click on the video and it will play, it was the only way I could put it up)

Lions Fire Millen When He's 3-0???
Thought I would take a quick screen shot of foxsport.com after they broke the Millen firing. Pretty funny that out of all the things they would get wrong it would be Millen not having a single loss on his record.
As I'm sure all the Lions fans are thrilled but it will still take at least two years if the Ford's can finally get the right guy in here. Until there is more on the search for GM or anything of substance from the Lions on the field I won't bring everyone down off their high from the firing of Mr. Millen with more Leo talk.
On to Michigan. A lot of talk this week about UM still taking it to the Badgers despite the ranking of the Badgers and recent loss to the Domers by Michigan. I'm a huge M fan but I just don't see it happening, sorry. Every time I want to convince myself that UM can do it I think about our QBs who can only throw 5 yard passes, and it still is shaky. You just can't win in the kind of offense RR runs until you get dual threat QBs in there to keep the defense honest. You never know though, I'm pretty sure their was a big upset last night so college football continues to be college football!!
I really hope they pull it off and if RR is really all he is supposed to be (I think he is) then he will again have the offense playing better then the previous weeks. Just keep your hands on the ball freshmen.
Time for a little MSU talk. Javon Ringer is a BEAST. Man I love watching him run for the Sparties. The problem that many think this may cause is that he is getting 40 carries or so and that may be too much for the brick house to continue with his dominance. If he is to be productive throughout the entire season Hoyer better start getting the rock moving through the air. I also didn't know how good or bad MSU would be with Coach D after his first year, they are good.
MSU has been able to get a ton of instate recruits and are putting together a very good class. I will still wait for the entire season to play out and for them to put to bed the echoes of falling late in the season until I crown Coach D as the man who will bring MSU back to the top 4 of the Big Ten in regards to football. Also please win a bowl game for once.
Nice catch
Good bye Mr. Millen! Please watch the entire video it is one of the best especially if you’re a Leos fan.
I don’t like David Blaine but love Kimbo Slice so I have to post him hitting Blaine right? Too bad he only punches him in the stomach and not the head.

3-0 Lions, oh its pre season still :(
Wow the Lions still look pretty good, I know it is the pre season, but you can’t tell me they don’t look like a team that is hungry on both sides of the ball. I really believe the Lions will win at least 8 games and have already put some money where my mouth is.
I know that there are the typical Lions fans out there that will just continue to bash until they show some improvement, or so they say. I really find these fans pretty funny because they seem to think they know so much about the team that they don’t want anybody to pay attention or give credit too. Yes the Lions haven’t done anything great in many of years. The Lions WILL go 9-7 this year and hopefully even better to make the playoffs.
To all the Lions fans out there that say they will win no more than 3 or 4 games, your just plain ignorant to the fact that they have made good personal changes in bringing in a few of Marinelli’s guys that know the Tampa 2. Everyone kept crying about it but from what I’ve seen on the field they have made good choices. Getting rid of Shaun Rodgers and bringing in Bodden, another good choice when you consider Rodgers was huffing for air on the sideline every 4th quarter. Yeah he was the best player on our defense last year? No, it was Sims who actually played all 4 quarters.
Go Lions and shut up the critics for once.
Mascots dancing are always worth a few secs
Make sure to watch this video all the way through it is more than worth it
Give him some credit for having some balls, but dude why?
Stopping jumping around and do something (not the best quality of video but had to post it)

Draft Day Is Upon Us
Wow what a disappointing night, both the Tigs and Stones loss. I really don't know what's up with the Pistons, but I still think they will pull off a series win. The Tigs should've gotten a few more runs and were unable to play small ball which cost them the game. Sheff is a real rally killer right now and I don't think he is even close to 80 percent healthy. His career is going to end pretty soon if you ask me.
As for the one day of the year that Lions fans actually have hope for, it is HERE!!! As long as we go with players in the trenches or a LB for the first few rounds I'll be happy. A lot can happen in the first round and maybe this will be the year it goes right for Millen, highly doubtful though. A lot of people have them getting the LB Mayo who looks like a decent player. I just hope that we can at least find one starter out of the 2 third round picks we have. If we do, this will be the best draft be Millen in his great career.
Check out the QB recruit Michigan will be bringing in for 2009, Kevin Newsome. He is ranked 39 overall for the class of 2009 by rivals.com
I hope the Dolphins made a clause in their contract with Jake Long about playing guitar hero. He may want to have a little chat with Zumya
Stupid Yankees fans and Red Sox fans fighting. I hate both of these fans more than any other teams in sports because they think their the only ones that matter even though the Yanks haven't won in years and the Red Sox sucked for decades and now think they are the greatest team in the history of baseball (First few seconds are only part of vid worth watching)
Wonder if this guy even trained for this fight?

Can Millen Make The Right Choice?
Posted by: Beautiful Dreamer
With the NFL draft just a few months away I was wondering what Matt Millen might do this year to piss me off even more then in the past. So I have come up with a few situations in the draft and my prediction how Millen will handle it.
1) Baltimore takes Kenny Phillips the bad ass safety from Miami (cause they need no offensive help), leaving the door open for the Lions to take 6'5" Limas Sweed, the stud WR from Texas. We all know Millen cant pass up a sure thing.
2) The Bears make the biggest mistake of the franchise by passing on Andre Woodson (QB Kentucky). And one pick later the Lions draft Limas Sweed, forcing many fans in Detroit to start saying....New England Who?
3) Denver Broncos take Limas Sweed to compliment Brandon Marshall. The Lions have no choice but to take Desean Jackson the speedy WR from Cal to ensure that winning 10 games next year is a for sure thing.
4) Detroit trades the 15th pick and Roy Williams to Miami for the number 1 pick. Detroit does the obvious and drafts Limas Sweed to guarantee themselves a future hall of famer.
We all know that Millen will find a way to anger us more then he has in the past, so be prepared to see many great players taken after the 15th pick. Players like Oregon RB Jonathon Stewart, Kansas CB Aqib Talib, Illinois RB Rashard Mendenhall, and Florida DE Derrick Harvey. At least 2 of those players will be available to Millen when it's his turn to choose, but those are key needs for us!! No, that's not how we draft. So everyone welcome the newest member of the Detroit Lions.......Limas Sweed.

Poll Results for Favorite Detroit Team
Thanks to everyone who got on Joe Cullen Drive-Bye and voted for your favorite Detroit team. Here are the results from the 51 most knowledgable sports fans in the WORLD!!!!
Red Wings - 16 votes (31%)
Lions - 12 votes (23%)
Tigers - 17 votes (33%)
Pistons - 6 votes (11%)
I was suprised in how many people voted for the wings and glad to see it. In the end the winner was the Tigers who may have one of the best lineups in the history of baseball. Each team got a lot of votes and it just goes to show that Michigan is one of the best sports states and will support any team that plays here (just look at the Lions). Hopefully a few of these teams will also be able to bring home a championship as well this year.

Millen does it again!!!
Well here we are after another horrible Lions season. The news of the day for the Lions is that the Mike Martz has been fired by the Lions, yeah he was the reason for the pussycats to lie down this season??? It never fails that Matt Millen finds a way to deflect his horrible record as an NFL GM to a coach or a player (Joey Harrington, Rogers, Williams, just to name a few).
Another interesting fact about the Lions coaching staff is the hire of Mr. Marinelli's son-in-law, Joe Berry before the start of the season. Man is this guy a great coach!!! He was able, as D-line coach, to help our defense to the rank as the leagues worst, man what a coaching tradition we have! If your going to can Martz who has accomplished success in the NFL, then why aren't they looking at Mr. Berry? Oh you don't want Christmas dinner to be uncomfortable for the family I guess? The Lions still continue to frusturate every loyal fan they have.
Day in and day out I come across at least a few articles about the lions and always see the shots that many people take at the fanbase we have for supporting our hometown team. What you don't think I know the Lions will and do suck?? I know what they are and I know the record of the great owner William Clay Ford Jr.. What am I supposed to do? Jump to another team and go against what I believe is a fan should be about? I never did that with the Red Wings, Tigers, or Pistons throughout my life! The big difference is that those teams have been setup by great owners - Bill Davidson & Mike Illitch. I know this is all old hat to many Detroit fans and it is pathetic to say the least.
Until either Matt Millen is let go or Mr. Ford has past away (please forgive me), I don't see any bright light at the end of the tunnel for the cats. I feel bad for the older Lions fan who has stuck with the team through so many years and has been ridiculed by many people throughout their life for sticking with their team. Only time will tell whether I become one of those fans. I have seen championships for the three other teams in my lifetime, but I know that if the Lions were ever able to bring a Lombardi trophy to Detroit it would be the greatest one of all.
