The Tigers are still managing to somehow stay a float in their division dispite their recent struggles on the road and at the plate. Hopefully they can get it together soon because the White Sox seem to be ready to leap over them. Which brings us to the video.
Click on the video to read the clip and learn more, the horse was ok with a few minor injuries.

Jordan vs. Bird
I think we all remember the crazy McDonald's commercials from back in the day. Off the building, off the little baby, off the shot clock and so on. Well if you were to make a golf commercial of the sort this would be the one shot that would be played.
Lucky bastard! Hopefully with the Buick Open in town for the last time the golfers will be able to make some amazing shots for everyone to remember.

SHAQ ON RAW
I saw this clip of Shaq on Raw last night and thought it was pretty funny. Jericho throws out a nice line when he brings up Kobe. Shaq is always so entertaining.
He Will Be Back

Not Long after Michael Vick was released from home confinement he was conditionally reinstated to the NFL. NFL commissioner Roger Goddell announced yesterday that Vick will have the opportunity to be fully reinstated by week 6 of the season. It sounds like he wants to make sure he doesn't get into any trouble or nothing else surfaces like it did with Pac Man or Plaxico.
I for one am excited to see if Vick plays again. You can hate all you want on the guy, but you have to admit he is one of the most exciting football players we have been able to watch in the past 10 years. I believe he has served his time and deserves another chance. So this is the last you will hear about Vick the criminal from me (unless he does something else). When i mention Vick from now on it will be about football.
If you are interested in what ESPN's John Clayton has to say about Vick go HERE
Here is a clip of Vick that I call one of the best runs ever.

Good Stuff
Awesome day for the Tigers today sweeping the White Sox in a double header. Great game one by Verlander with a complete game giving up just 1 ER. There is no need to celebrate yet with 2 more versus Chicago this weekend then a 3 game set with the Rangers. The Tigers need to come out in these next 5 games with 4 wins and take control of the division.
I decided for the weekend to throw up some good videos to watch. So check them out.
Nut shots are always funny.

Dog Days of Summer
With sports news so slow right now it seems the football chatter has picked up right were it left off. Every fan across the country is getting there fantasy football picks for a draft over going over countless articles to get you just another day closer to the opening kick.
While going over some Michigan videos I managed to check out a few of the great Bo Schembechler. What a motivater he was. Even if you're not a UM fan he just had a way about him that anybody could appreciate as the head coach of a big time program. He really cared for his players and it showed back throughout his life and after his passing. They don't make em like they used to.

Come On Now Pac-Man

Well Adam Pac-Man Jones is back in the news again. It seems a video tape of Jones at the strip club the night 3 people were shot has surfaced.
Through out the video you can see how dumb Jones was acting. He is throwing around money and apparently was carrying around 40,000 dollars. The thing I noticed from the video is that ESPN says that the club manager tried to take Pac-Man's bag with all the money in it and he was one of the guys who got shot, and he is paralyzed from the waist down. Jones is going to testify against some guy he claims he saw shoot.
The more I hear about Pac-Man and the things he has done makes me believe he had more to do with the shooting then we know. If he was involved he will get caught and he deserves to get caught if he was.
I would love nothing more to believe Pac-Man when he says he is trying to lead an upstanding life. Now though I just don't know who to believe. We only know the person the media portrays, we don't know Jones as a person. That's why I am kind of torn to make a judgement.
Some cool things from the video though are Nelly, just cause he sang #1 and that's a bad ass song. Also Jermaine Dupri is in it, and i was like "I thought he fell off the face of the earth when Kriss Kross did". Dupri sure does seem to think he is a big shot in the video though.

Top Dunks Of 2009
This is a top 10 video of the best dunks from the 2009 NBA season. It's a pretty good list but I think the dunk by Josh Smith at 6 is better the one they put at number 2. And the dunk by Westbrook at 10 is better then that. Of course LeBron got number 1, but it is a pretty impressive dunk just because the Hawks are pretty much pulling him down. The dunk I would like to see at number 1 is that dude from Xavier dunking on LeBron. That's right those tapes disappeared.

Time For Change

"Never again will I allow us to be in a position where we're dealing with issues, where we're dealing with drama." That is a statement made by Pistons GM Joe Dumars to the media after the pick Gonzaga's Austin Daye.
I was a little skeptical of the pick of Daye at 15 for the Pistons when I felt like they were lacking a true point guard and Ty Lawson and Jrue Holiday were still available. I guess I am still skeptical of the pick, but in Joe D we have to trust. The only problem I really have with Daye is he is very similar to Tayshawn Prince. Does this mean Prince may be going away soon? I hope not, of anyone on the current Piston's roster he caused the least amount of what Joe hates. Drama.
It was nice to hear Joe come out and say what he did. Last year's Pistons team was impossible to watch at times, and it was easy to tell they had no chemistry left. It was a good run for the past 6 years, but it is time for a change.
The Pistons used the 35th pick to get DaJuan Summers from Georgetown. I saw Summers play a couple of times this year and he is a very athletic kid with a lot of upside. With the 39th pick Detroit went with Jonas Jerebko from Italy. Don't know about the guy, but i don't like Joe's past of drafting foreign players. Detroit took Chase Buddinger with the 44th pick then traded him to Houston for a 2nd round pick next year.
I find it really hard to grade a team's draft class before any of the players have played an NBA game. It usually takes about 2-3 years before we really know for sure who the studs and busts were from the draft. If I had to give it a grade right now I would say a B. I give them a B because they did get younger upfront and that's what they wanted to do. And anytime a GM is able to do what he wants, then it is a good draft for now.
Here's a little highlight video of Austin Daye.

A Tale of Two Horses

With the basketball and hockey season coming to a close the sports world turns it's attention to the diamond. The Detroit Tigers currently are out in front by 3 games over the Twins in the Central Division. The Twins have one of the best managers in Ron Gardenhire who can play small ball with the best of them and always seems to be able to get his team to make a late push at the end of the season.
The Tigers are 6-4 in their last 10 games which isn't that great until you look at the other teams in the division who have played at or below .500 in their last 10. For the Tigers to continue to stay on top they will have to improve in both their offensive production and relief pitching/Willis.

The changes that Dave Dombrowski made in the off season seem to be working well up until this point of the season. Edwin Jackson, acquired in via trade, may be the best off season move by any team. He currently has a 6-3 record with an ERA of 2.24 (5th best in the Majors). Then you have the additions of SS Adam Everett and C Gerald Laird who have brought their experience and good defensive play with them. Add in the speedster that is Josh Anderson and the Tigers have a whole new dimension to their team when he is on base or in the outfield.
Then you have the main man Justin Verlander who is taking the mound tonight. Verlander looks to have finally made the next step in his career after a few rough outings to start the season. He was the pitcher of the month for the AL in April and currently has a 7-2 record with an ERA of 3.02 (18th best in the Majors), which has been inflated because of the few bad starts. Verlander is making a run for the Cy Young along with Zach Grienke of the Royals and Roy Halladay.
There is also the Magglio Ordonez situation. If the Tigers play him X number of games this year they will also be on the hook for 17 million next year. To put it mildly Ordonez is not putting up numbers worth 17 million. There has been rumors of a release and them going after Adam Dunn, which I think would be a great move. I really like Ordonez but this is a business and the smart move to do, with how much attendance has fallen and the current economic conditions, would be to let him go unless he really turns it up in the coming weeks.
The Tigers will need to keep getting brilliant performances from both Jackson and Verlander to stay on top. Mix in the good outings by Rick Porcello and they have a great 1-2-3 combo along with the 4th best fielding percentage in the league at .989, and the Tigers should still be there at the end to battle with the Twins.
And because I haven't put up any funny videos lately here is a recap of some of the better ones over the past week.

Love this Cat!!!
I don't know about the rest if you but I hate the stupid Brett Michaels shows on vh1. So when I heard that idiot broke his nose at the MTV awards I laughed. Then I saw the video of the accident with the greatest cat around and laughed even harder.

Almost Time
I know the NBA and NHL finals are both still going on right now but to me it seems both those series are already over. The Wings will probably close out Pittsburgh in game 6 Tuesday and the Lakers now with a 2-0 lead will probably win in 4 or 5.
So with hockey and basketball about to come to an end it got me to thinking about some fantasy football. I am very excited for fantasy football because I have Matt Forte in 2 keeper leagues and I expect a lot out of him this year.
So I found a video of some insight for next season and I thought you guys may enjoy it, cause it's never too early to start talking fantasy football.

I'm getting excited about Madden 2010 coming out in August, but it got me to thinking about some of the old school football games I enjoyed as a kid. Check out these videos, maybe they will bring back memories for you too.

Hey Stand Right There
So your telling me that there are people who have seen Charles Barkley swing a golf club and yet stand in front of him before he does it? This just shows that even with the money to have Tigers golf coach, some people just aren't cut out for certain sports although they may be a hall of famer in another.
The fun ensues now
UPDATE: Now Tiger can show us what it looked liked from the side
