And the wait begins......

With Michigan out of the tourney most of my attention turns to football and getting hyped up as much as I can over the next eight months or so. Yeah I will be all for the Tigers getting things together if their pitching can somehow manage it, but the King of Kings is Football.

I managed to check out a few new highlights of Tate Forcier from his season that were recently put up, this kid is something. I know it is easy to get hyped up for any freshmen QB coming into a program and having to take it over from day one, but this kid has only kept on building his hype since he arrived early. From what I've heard on boards and coaches he is throwing as accurately as advertised. Hitting WRs right on the button.

Click here to check them out. They are worth it. First highlight is of him leading his team down the field on a fourth quarter drive with only minutes left to win the game. Also search around the site to find out more about the future Heisman, haha!

One thing to keep in mind while watching some of his H.S. highlights is where he is able to place the ball compared with how the defense is playing at the time. He seems to always put the ball in the right position for the WR to either plant their foot and make a move, be protected from a huge hit and catch it, or right on the hands in front of the WR to continue without losing stride. Yes Forcier played in somewhat of a not so great league and has been called a midget by some. If he is able to improve at all and catch up to the speed at which the college game is played, dare I say better than a Henne fresh year? I do, and it will happen.

Already found a screenshot and some heads up on the new Madden game as well from my cousin. It is the same fluff piece before any Madden and it will get you pumped and want it now, let's just hope they get it right. Link here

Tough Times

Very tough times right now for Detroit fans unless your a Sparty fan.

UM is still going through the growing pains of a new coaching regime. They are still pulling in great recruits who are getting offers from major programs. I just really hope they can stop putting the ball on the ground as the year goes.

The Wings lost last night while raising the banner. They looked a little sloppy out there but I think it has to do with many of the players not getting time with each other on the ice in preseason due to injuries. They will be fine and everyone knows there is two seasons in hockey and by the time the playoffs come the team should be looking pretty good.

Then you have the Lions. I hope to see Stanton this weekend but because he has missed so much time with his broken hand/finger I don't think he needs to just get thrown out there. They really have a good shot at going 0-16 this year. I just really hope they get a new GM within the next few months and start to blow up the team. I also hope they don't spend their first round pick on a QB, RB, or WR next year. I really hope Lions fans understand that to build a team it starts with the trenches. I'm sure I will still see the stupid post everywhere of how they should take Tebow or Daniels with their pick. It never fails to amaze me how stupid some Lions fans are when it comes to building a team and what it takes.

Should be a great game for MSU this weekend to prove to everyone that Coach D is tunring the corner with them If they take out Northwestern it will really show everyone they are not the Sparties of old. Also I predict Ringer to have 220 yards and 3 TDs.

Make sure to watch some of the baseball playoffs as well. There are very good teams out there and it is always fun to cheer on Manny because people hate him so much. I would really like to see him face off against the Red Sox and beat them, but it seems the Phillies and Pat Burrell are going to make that very tough.

Have a good weekend and good luck to your fantasy team unless your playing me.

Fitzgerald Toussaint is another great RB coming to Michigan next year. I actually think he will be better than Shaw or McGuffie, yes I said it.

(Language NSF) These guys talk smack and fight a little then at the end the guy keeps talking and gets blown out! Make sure you watch until the end, that’s when the guy brings the pain big time (Just click on the video and it will play, it was the only way I could put it up)

Just because you walked away from the first fight doesn't mean you should run your mouth. Look at his face now!

Nothing like the spirit of Lions fans, it’s just sad that the team isn’t as passionate.

Couldn't of said it better myself

Great try...

3-0 Lions, oh its pre season still :(

Wow the Lions still look pretty good, I know it is the pre season, but you can’t tell me they don’t look like a team that is hungry on both sides of the ball. I really believe the Lions will win at least 8 games and have already put some money where my mouth is.

I know that there are the typical Lions fans out there that will just continue to bash until they show some improvement, or so they say. I really find these fans pretty funny because they seem to think they know so much about the team that they don’t want anybody to pay attention or give credit too. Yes the Lions haven’t done anything great in many of years. The Lions WILL go 9-7 this year and hopefully even better to make the playoffs.

To all the Lions fans out there that say they will win no more than 3 or 4 games, your just plain ignorant to the fact that they have made good personal changes in bringing in a few of Marinelli’s guys that know the Tampa 2. Everyone kept crying about it but from what I’ve seen on the field they have made good choices. Getting rid of Shaun Rodgers and bringing in Bodden, another good choice when you consider Rodgers was huffing for air on the sideline every 4th quarter. Yeah he was the best player on our defense last year? No, it was Sims who actually played all 4 quarters.

Go Lions and shut up the critics for once.

Mascots dancing are always worth a few secs

Make sure to watch this video all the way through it is more than worth it

Give him some credit for having some balls, but dude why?

Stopping jumping around and do something (not the best quality of video but had to post it)

Heads or Tails? Call it in the air

Football is getting closer and closer so things are going well for everyone out there. The Lions already look to be sucking me in, again, this year. Calvin Johnson could be the best WR this year if he can stay healthy. With the weak schedule the first few weeks as well the Lions will be in full talk show mode with a few wins and many fans still bashing the wins.

The Tigers are done as I have already posted. I’m to ready for the football season so I won’t be talking baseball until the playoffs are close.

Michigan is keeping the hype machine going with the super freshmen tag team of McGuffie and Shaw, should be a great first game of the season. It has been a long time since I’ve anticipated the start of the season this much.

My fantasy football teams are also looking to win championships in both leagues. It’s funny that at the start of every football season everyone you talk to about ff says the same thing as well, huh.

GO LEOS???????

Anthony Fera – 2009 commit for the Wolverines. Guess he can kick them from 58 yards out.

Here is a guy who decided to go wind surfing, in a hurricane. This just happened down in Florida and I guess the guy is in pretty bad condition at the hospital. Hopefully he recovers well and tells others not do the same, despite being common knowledge.

And a few more for everyone to keep Calvin Johnson in your thoughts for the rest of the day

Thoughts About Super Bowl XLII

Eli Manning and the Giants were able to overcome the mighty 18-0 Patriots and Mercury Morris with the rest of the 1972 Dolphins cried with joy! I was totally wrong about this game and would've put my money on the -12 spread, but luckily I don't have a bookie. This game wasn't the best for the highlight reel, it was won and lost in the trenches with the great play by the Giants defensive line lead by Justin Tuck (should've been MVP) and Osi Umenyiora.

It is no suprise though that the MVP award went to Eli Manning, marking the first time in NFL history that two brothers have won a super bowl and the MVP award in back to back years none the less. With all the pressure that has been on Eli over the past few years and living in the shadows of his brother and father, Eli does deserve praise for playing the game smart and not making mistakes throughout the post season. I still will never be able to get over him crying when the Chargers drafted him and he whined until they traded him.

The biggest loser of the Super Bowl was not the Patriots, Tom Brady, or even the great Hoody, it was however Tiki Barber. After leaving the team for the bright lights of hollywood, Tiki proceeded to trash the team, Eli's leadership, and the coach. Now look at them Tiki, I'm sure that all of the players in the locker room will be sending one big thank you card and some pictures of their new rings.

One of the best moments of the night didn't even happen during the game, well sort of. After the Patriots had their last shot and the ball hit the ground Bill Bellicheck ran out onto the field with one second left. I guess once Bill decides the game is over than that is the way it is. This guy is a great coach but a true jerk and he continues to prove it time after time.

All in all I thought that the super bowl was a good one, not great. At least I was still watching the game in the final minutes unlike years past. I didn't really care what team came out the winner, we all knew that we would be hearing about it all year from either the Boston or N.Y. fans. Just be glad that we don't have to hear about an asterisks next to the Patriots championship. Over the past few days the media covered that more than the big game itself. I'm sure will be getting our filling of it from ESPN in the off-season, but you can at least be happy that it will only take up 30 minutes of Sportscenter instead of the 45 minutes it would've if they pulled it off.

Can Millen Make The Right Choice?

Posted by: Beautiful Dreamer

With the NFL draft just a few months away I was wondering what Matt Millen might do this year to piss me off even more then in the past. So I have come up with a few situations in the draft and my prediction how Millen will handle it.

1) Baltimore takes Kenny Phillips the bad ass safety from Miami (cause they need no offensive help), leaving the door open for the Lions to take 6'5" Limas Sweed, the stud WR from Texas. We all know Millen cant pass up a sure thing.

2) The Bears make the biggest mistake of the franchise by passing on Andre Woodson (QB Kentucky). And one pick later the Lions draft Limas Sweed, forcing many fans in Detroit to start saying....New England Who?

3) Denver Broncos take Limas Sweed to compliment Brandon Marshall. The Lions have no choice but to take Desean Jackson the speedy WR from Cal to ensure that winning 10 games next year is a for sure thing.

4) Detroit trades the 15th pick and Roy Williams to Miami for the number 1 pick. Detroit does the obvious and drafts Limas Sweed to guarantee themselves a future hall of famer.

We all know that Millen will find a way to anger us more then he has in the past, so be prepared to see many great players taken after the 15th pick. Players like Oregon RB Jonathon Stewart, Kansas CB Aqib Talib, Illinois RB Rashard Mendenhall, and Florida DE Derrick Harvey. At least 2 of those players will be available to Millen when it's his turn to choose, but those are key needs for us!! No, that's not how we draft. So everyone welcome the newest member of the Detroit Lions.......Limas Sweed.

Michigans New Strength and Training Coach

I have found a video through si.com of the new Michigan strength and trainging coach, Mike Barwis. This guy is intense to say the least and he may even been on speed while he gave this interview. I can only imagine how much faster Michigan players will be after this guy gets on their ass!

Michigan Commitments

Hope everyone has had a great weekend watching the NFL playoffs and the Pistons winning. The Red Wings let us down last night, but they were playing the second best team in hockey and they didn’t look like themselves. Everyone has a bad game here and there and we all know that the Wings will be in the playoffs and that’s when it will matter, so don’t get down on them. The Pistons play tonight against the Knicks, so you can add another W to their record.

For this post I decided to put up the commitments from all the top rated players that should (never know these days) end up in Ann Arbor this year. Everyone knows about Sam McGuffie and I figured that we should get a little insight on the other guys who will be wearing the block M. I have also included a link to each player with a video or other information if I wasn’t able to get the video. Hopefully these guys can do what the last class wasn’t able to and bring down OSU this year.

Sam McGuffie – We all know who he is and here is a mix of some of his great runs he has had. Click Here

Darryl Stonum - He is a WR out of Texas who has a 4.4 40, he is also rated 43 on rivals.com. Couldn't get a video, let me know in the comments if you can find one, thanks.

Boubacar Cissoko - We all will have to learn how to say this guys name because he is going to be a stud. At the All-Army game he impressed a lot of coaches and should get sometime as a freshmen. Click Here

Dann O'Neil - You say your worried that Jake Long is gone? Well don't. Standing at 6'8 and weighing 291 I think he will do just fine. Click here to see this beast in acition

Brandon Smith - This guy also had a great showing at the All-Army game. He is a pure athelete and if Pryor doens't end up coming this guy could get a look. Click here for video. They talk about him at about 1:35 into it.

For those of you who want to see more videos click here and go to takkle.com. It is better for getting videos rather than paying at rivals.com. Just type in the player you want to see and you should get some results use the list (link provided below) at rivals to get the players you want to see, just a little tip.

These are just a few of the recruits that I think could make a big impact at Michigan. For a complete list you can click here. It will take you to rivals.com but they don't give you to much and want you pay for everything.

Oh your an MSU fan? Click here and scroll to Michian State in the commitment list box, sorry it wouldn't copy right sparty. There it will give you a list of their recruiting class.

Freaking Sam McGuffie!!

Above you will see why people are excited in Ann Arbor about McGuffie. In the video McGuffie does a front flip over a 6'4 football player. You gotta see it to believe it.

Stay Classy Morgantown

Never knew Brady Quinn went to WVU parties, who knew?
Anyways I came across a blog that had a few thoughts about WVU and how they are still sour about their Coach leaving, click here to check it out. I'm still amazed that this is even talked about, guess there isn't much to do in Morgantown these days.

THE OHIO STATE CHOKEYES!!!

I hope to have this picture put on my tombstone when I die. I loved every minute of this game and love that a Michigan man still wanted to throw the ball and poor it on at the end.
I will post more on the game later, but just want to enjoy my day knowing that the chokeye fans are very sad today.

Millen does it again!!!

Well here we are after another horrible Lions season. The news of the day for the Lions is that the Mike Martz has been fired by the Lions, yeah he was the reason for the pussycats to lie down this season??? It never fails that Matt Millen finds a way to deflect his horrible record as an NFL GM to a coach or a player (Joey Harrington, Rogers, Williams, just to name a few).

Another interesting fact about the Lions coaching staff is the hire of Mr. Marinelli's son-in-law, Joe Berry before the start of the season. Man is this guy a great coach!!! He was able, as D-line coach, to help our defense to the rank as the leagues worst, man what a coaching tradition we have! If your going to can Martz who has accomplished success in the NFL, then why aren't they looking at Mr. Berry? Oh you don't want Christmas dinner to be uncomfortable for the family I guess? The Lions still continue to frusturate every loyal fan they have.

Day in and day out I come across at least a few articles about the lions and always see the shots that many people take at the fanbase we have for supporting our hometown team. What you don't think I know the Lions will and do suck?? I know what they are and I know the record of the great owner William Clay Ford Jr.. What am I supposed to do? Jump to another team and go against what I believe is a fan should be about? I never did that with the Red Wings, Tigers, or Pistons throughout my life! The big difference is that those teams have been setup by great owners - Bill Davidson & Mike Illitch. I know this is all old hat to many Detroit fans and it is pathetic to say the least.

Until either Matt Millen is let go or Mr. Ford has past away (please forgive me), I don't see any bright light at the end of the tunnel for the cats. I feel bad for the older Lions fan who has stuck with the team through so many years and has been ridiculed by many people throughout their life for sticking with their team. Only time will tell whether I become one of those fans. I have seen championships for the three other teams in my lifetime, but I know that if the Lions were ever able to bring a Lombardi trophy to Detroit it would be the greatest one of all.
